Social, Social Action

Context
Hand-painted signs are art
Time Out Mexico joined forces to raise awareness about the removal of urban graphics from street stalls in several boroughs of Mexico City. We created an Instagram filter, “Rótulos que Pegan” (hand-painted magnets to be placed on and removed from street stalls), and a graphic archive, as well as interviews and case studies with local vendors on social media and in Time Out Mexico magazine.
Objective
To bring the issue of the removal of Mexican popular graphics to the forefront and highlight the local identity of street stalls through content and actions that could be shared on social media and virtual channels.
Challenge
To share a digital hand-painted sign that could be used across all social networks as a peaceful proposal, mobilize graphic identity with "Rótulos que Pegan" in several stalls in the Cuauhtémoc borough, and raise awareness of the issue in Mexico City through digital channels.

The Idea
To create a hand-painted magnet that could be put up and taken down every day at street stalls to hack the ban imposed by local authorities.
